Ari Gomez, born on August 31, 1936, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by devotion to family and enduring love. His life was enriched by nearly seven decades of marriage to his beloved wife, Nilda, who preceded him in death after almost 67 years together. Ari also was preceded in death by his father, Bienvenido, his mother, M. Teresa, and many cherished family and friends.
Ari’s enduring commitment to his family is reflected in the large and loving family he leaves behind. He is survived by his children, Henry (Nancy) Gómez and Betty (Charles) Bauer, who, along with their spouses, carry forward his spirit and values. His grandchildren, Theresa Gomez, Anthony (Amanda) Gomez, Christina (Jack) Tompkins, Michael (Lindsey) Bauer, Christopher (Erica) Bauer, Brianna (Tommy) Arachtingi, Andrew (Barbie) Bauer, Elizabeth (Ken) Haag, Chas Bauer, Lisette (Joseph) Johnson, Therese Bauer, John Paul (Sophia) Bauer, and Stephen Bauer, represent a vibrant chapters of his family story, sharing their fond memories and continuing his legacy.
Ari’s presence extended joyfully into the lives of his great-grandchildren, who knew him as a source of warmth and guidance. They include Cassidy Gomez, Ashley Finch, Michael and Matthew Rowe, Savannah Goroncy, Isabella, Veronica, Ava, Juliana, Gemma, Jack Tompkins, Luke, Olivia, Siena, Elora, Julia, Makayla and a new baby Bauer, Liam, Aiden, Adalena, Christopher Jr. Bauer, Clara, Gabriella and another baby Arachtingi, Felicity, Azelie, Blaise, Evangeline, Cyprian, Damian Bauer, Kenny III, Mary and Charlie Haag, Anastasia, Sebastian and baby Johnson, as well as Henry and baby Bauer. His enduring influence is even celebrated by his great-great-grandchild, Levi Finch, a testament to the lasting impact Ari made on generations of his family.
In addition to his direct descendants, Ari is survived by his brother Al (Addy) Gómez and nephews Leo Gomez and Alex Gómez, who, together with the extended family, mourn this great loss.
Ari Gomez’s life was a testament to the strength and comfort found in family bonds. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him and be a part of his extraordinary family. His love, wisdom, and kindness live on through the generations whose lives he touched so deeply.
