Barbara Ellen Judge, 80, of Mt. Pleasant died Friday, July 29, 2005 at Central Michigan Community Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation, Michigan Parkinson's Foundation, or the Isabella County Parkinson's Support Group. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home.
Barbara was born Feb. 10, 1925 in Mt. Pleasant to Peter and Theresa (Gepford) Murphy. At 13 months of age Barbara's parents both passed away due to an influenza and pneumonia epidemic. She was then adopted and raised by Hayden and Pearl Glavin. She was married to Raymond Judge.
She worked at Central Michigan University for 26 years as secretary to Deans Willhite, Hogan, and Plachta in the School of Business Administration.
Barbara's faith was very important to her. She was actively involved in her parish at Sacred Heart as a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Altar Society. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1942.
Some of her favorite pastimes were volunteering, traveling, bowling, playing Canasta, and the activities at New Harmony. She was a member of the Isabella County Parkinson's Support Group, Central Michigan Community Hospital Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, GFWC of Mt. Pleasant, Professional Secretaries of America, MARSP, and the CMU Retirees.
Barbara is survived by a daughter, Judy (Stephen) Hein of Hawks; two grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Hein of St. Louis, MO and Michelle (Timothy) Koss of Auburn Hills; brother, Thomas (Ellen) Cavanaugh of St. Louis; sister-in-law, Loretta Ruby of Mt. Pleasant; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her birth parents, Peter and Theresa Murphy; her adoptive parents, Hayden Glavin and Pearl (Glavin) Campbell; husband, Raymond Judge; sisters, Dorothy O'Connor and Marie Brunner; and brothers, Joseph and Robert.
