December 6, 1940 — April 17, 2005
The Rev. David L. Deck, 64, of Pinellas Park, FL, died Sunday,April 17, 2005 at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.
He came here in 1988 from his native Dayton, Ohio. He was a 1970 graduate of Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pineville, Ky. He was the former pastor of Grace Community Church in St. Petersburg and also served as pastor at Meadowdale Baptist Church in Dayton, Fordsville Baptist Church in Fordsville, Ky., Plano Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Ky., and First Baptist Church in Carroll, Ohio. He was a member of Calvary Chapel in Pinellas Park. He was an Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Alfredda J. "Trixie"; son, Gregory A. Deck, son and daughter-in-law, Paul D. and Cindy Deck, all of St. Petersburg; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa K. and Don E. Hartley of Garland, TX; brother, Raymond V. of Dayton, OH; sisters, Mary Jane Fletcher, Erma Fread, both of Dayton, OH, Doris J. Shade, of Vandalia, OH, Shirley Mershon, of New Port Richey, FL and grandchildren, Josh Hartley, Kaitlyn Deck and David Deck.
He was predeceased by his brother, Charles; sisters, Pauline Thomas and Helen Steele; and his parents Charles & Hattie Marie.
