James Gilhooley

James Peter Gilhooley IV, 66, St. Petersburg, FL. Passed away at home under the care of hospice on April 24, 2026. Born December 5, 1959, in Sacramento, CA. Graduate of Northeast High and Florida State University. James was proud of his contributions including the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne and a lifelong career in law enforcement. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and devotion to dogs. Preceded in death by his father James Gilhooley III. Loved by many including his partner Laura Weber, mother Evelyn Gilhooley, sister Carole Gilhooley West (Nelson Gonzalez), niece Allison West Johnson (William), and nephew David Lloyd West. Our family is deeply grateful to the hospice team from Empath Health for their compassionate care. In his memory, please consider registering as an organ donor.
