EVANS, Jean Marshick, 72, of Largo, died May 1, 2008. She was born at Mound Park Hospital, St. Petersburg in 1935. She attended local schools, graduating from St. Petersburg High School in 1953. She went to the University of Miami and also Florida State University from which she graduated in 1958. She came back to St. Petersburg, and taught in the Pinellas County Schools for 34 years. She taught Physical Education at Madeira Beach Middle School from 1958 to 1963. In 1963 she transferred to Seminole High School from which she retired in 1992. She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Largo FL, North Pinellas County Retired Educators Association, and the Florida Retired Educators Association. She enjoyed sailing, bass fishing and camping. For many years she was a Campground Host at two of Georgia's State Parks; Vogel and Cloudland Canyon. She is survived by her brother John Marshick Betty of Inverness, FL, her sister, Marilyn Marshick, nephew, Timothy Marshick Tamara, great nephew, Austin Marshick, aunt, Esther Marshick, all of St. Petersburg, and a dear friend and caregiver, Sandy Lugar, Largo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760, or The Sheriff's Youth Ranch, 3180 Enterprise Rd. E., Safety Harbor, FL 34695.
