Jewel E. Shavers

Jewel E. Shavers, 93, of Pinellas Park, FL, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 3, 2015. She was born in Columbus, GA, came here in 1961 from Birmingham, AL, moved to Eustis, FL in 1998, and returned in 2004. She was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and the Celebration Sunday School Class and was a past President of the PTA in Phenix City, AL. She is survived by 1 son, Glenn (Carol) Shavers of St. Petersburg; 3 daughters, Kay S. (John) Ham of Altamonte Springs, FL, Susan S. (Bob) Striggo of Sparta, TN, Dale S. (Fred) Newman of Snellville, GA; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great granddaughters. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Forrest A. Shavers, who she worked alongside in business and ministry. The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at E. Dale Gunter Funeral Home 4100 - 16th Street North with Dr. Hal Kitchings and Rev. Mickey Burroughs officiating.
