Karen Lynne Cocker

Cocker, Karen L. 48, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 after a 5-year battle with cancer. She was born in Louisville, KY and moved here in 1966. She graduated from USF and worked at State Farm Insurance for 25 years. Karen was an active member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church where she was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Thomas. She is survived by her children, Alexa and Shane Cocker; mother, Mary Gemma Thomas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy (Jim) Gore, Patti (John) Farese and Julie (Vince) Fischer; nieces and nephews, Kristin Gore (Ben Hess), Jessica Gore, John Gerard and Patrick Farese, Brianna and Cassie Fischer. Visitation will be held in the narthex of St. Raphael's at 10am, Memorial Mass at 11am on Saturday, Dec 7th, with a reception following in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen's name to Palm Terrace of St. Petersburg, 521 Atwood Ave. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33702.
