Kathryn Sassaman Kimmel

Kathryn Sassaman Kimmel, 86, passed away on Monday night, January 19, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Anderson McQueen Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, FL. Burial will be in Royal Palm Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 5 - 7 P.M. on Thursday at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home and suggest that memorial contributions be made to Hospice Care Options, 1125 Walnut Street, Macon, GA 31201. Mrs. Kimmel, wife of the late Domer Wilson Kimmel, was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan the daughter of the late Erie Ansel and Julia Beryl Brown Sassaman. She was a 1940 graduate of St. Petersburg High School and was a member of St. Petersburg High School Pioneers and St. Petersburg High School Alumni Association. While living in St. Petersburg, Mrs. Kimmel was also a member of the St. Petersburg Sunshine Center, the Bay Pines Veterans Center and the World War I Ladies Auxiliary No. 155. Mrs. Kimmel worked as a bookkeeper at Wilson-Chase Department Store and for nineteen years, was bookkeeper at Florida National Bank, retiring as purchasing agent for Wachovia Bank. She was a member of First Baptist Church, St. Petersburg, FL. Survivors include her brother, Grover Sassaman of Macon and four nephews. Anderson McQueen Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
