Louise E. Weyen
Jan 21, 1930 — Jun 27, 2026
Louise Eberhart Weyen, 96, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026.
She was born on January 21, 1930, in Bethalto, Illinois. As a young woman, she worked in office jobs (she often recalled the early days of computer punchcards) at the Alton Telegraph newspaper and Olin Ordinance. She met her husband, Harvey “Judge” Weyen after he returned from serving in the Korean War, eloped to Corinth, Mississippi, to be married, and moved to Indianapolis while Judge started what would be a 50-year career with Monsanto.
That’s where their son Rick and daughter Wendy were born. The day Wendy was born, the family was transferred to St Louis, where Judge and Louise raised their children.
Judge and Louise were avid golfers, bowlers, card players and active in the church, serving on a number of committees. They taught their children pinochle, euchre, bridge and later, Louise became a patient teacher of mahjong. They split their time (and Louise’s owl collection) between St. Louis and Florida, first near Pensacola in Perdido Bay and then Spring Hill. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Lee Weyen, in 2012. She later moved to St. Petersburg to be closer to family.
Louise is survived by her devoted daughter, Wendy Wallace and her partner Mary Allen of St. Petersburg, FL, and her loving son, Rick Weyen, and his wife, Lori, of San Antonio, TX.
She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Bradley Wallace of Arlington, TX; Jason Wallace of St. Petersburg, FL; Brittany Weyen of Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Chelsea Weyen and her husband Michael Young of San Antonio, TX; Carson West and his wife, Jessi, of Spring, TX; and Katie Mayer of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Riley Mayer, Asher Mayer, Lillian West, and Anderson West.
She is survived by one brother, Gerald, and predeceased by siblings Glen and Shirley and parents Julia (Ursprung) and Erwin J.L. Eberhart of Bethalto, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Manchester, Mo., or to “Civic Memorial Athletics” for the boys and girls golf teams at Civic Memorial High School, Bethalto, Ill.
