Carlson, Mark, 52, of St. Petersburg died Thursday Nov. 22nd at St. Anthony?s Hospital from surgical complications. Born in Chicago, he moved here in 1961 from Morristown, MN. He was employed by Kemco Systems, Inc. He was an avid environmentalist, had a love of nature, all matters of the universe, technology and weather plus a passionate love for the ocean. He enjoyed golf, tennis, windsurfing, kayaking, snorkeling, roller blading, photography, hiking, and biking. He studied various religions and spirituality extensively having a deep faith. Survivors include his fiancée, Arleen Sand; two 2 children ? Marcus Richard Carlson and daughter Katlyn Rose; Christiana Michelle Miller-Spears and daughter Olivvia Constance and son Bowden Roy; his Mother ? Darlene Ogle; brother ? Steve Carlson; brother - Jeff Holzerland and children - Brianna, Nicholas, and Kara; sister ? Laurie Primeau and children - Laurie Kim Tansy, Kelli Nicole Primeau, Lee Michael Primeau and Travis Timothy Primeau. He was preceded in death by his dad, Richard Carlson. Grandad/Uncle Mark was entertaining and had a great imagination making him a man with a warm heart that was able to relate to children easily. This man will be missed by society due to his many contributions concerning humanitarianism and a constant effort to improve life for not only for himself, his fellow human beings and future generations. His humor, antics, and quick wit will be missed by the many who love him. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday Nov. 27th at 7pm at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201-Dr. M.L. King St. N.
