She was born on May 22,1927 to Charles Edwin and Mozelle Bennet Sawyer in Traverse City, MI.
Mozelle attended Interlochen Center for the Arts, received her B.A. at Michigan State University, and her Masters in English and Spanish at University of Minnesota
She married Carroll Loren Bell and lived in St. Louis Park, MN and in 1972, moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. Mozelle is survived by her three children , Mike (Philomena), Charlie (Gigi) and Barb Fuchs (Tom), three grandchildren, Elaine Bell and Matt and Mike Fuchs and two great-grandchildren, Wes and Anna Fuchs. After Carroll’s death in 1993, Mozelle met Jim Covington, a retired Air Force Colonel, with whom she traveled the world. Jim’s son David has remained a close friend.
Mozelle pursued and developed her own talents and was a life-long violinist, writer, and Spanish and English teacher. Mozelle was known for her positive nature. She and Carroll helped their kids have a good childhood, having high expectations while allowing them enough freedom to develop into unique, independent individuals. She was known for her upbeat nature, always offering her help and support. She was referred to as “Mrs. Evergreen” because she looked so young and was very active late in her life.
