Richard Delaney,79, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Kindred Hospital St. Petersburg. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and came to Florida in 1990 from East Hampton, NY. He was a Detective with the New York City Police Department. He was an avid Fisherman and New York Yankees fan. He was a Navy and Marine Corps veteran serving in WWII and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Petersburg. He is survived by his wife, Joan; three sons, John Delaney of Babylon, NY., David Gruver of Norton, OH., John Gruver of Fishersville, VA; four daughters, Kathleen Delaney of Port Hueneme,CA, Teresa Morrow of Tucson, AZ, Susan Gruver of Medina, OH, Elizabeth Bambrick of E. Hampton, NY; eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
