Steven F.C. Anderson

March 12, 1962 — June 25, 2018

ANDERSON, Steven F.C. passed away June 25, 2018. Steve was a native, born at Mound Park Hospital on March 12, 1962. He attended Shorecrest Elementary and Middle Schools, graduated from St. Petersburg High and went on to earn two bachelor of science and a masters degree from USF. He was a member of Phi Alpha Theta and Beta Alpha Psi and was very active in student government. Steve was predeceased by his father, Alan and his grandparents, Roy and Helen Gardenhire and Clarence and Gertrude Anderson. He is survived by his mother, Patsy; his sister, Nancy (Ray Stivers) and brother, John (Pamela Parish). His nieces and nephews were important to Steve; Nancy’s girls, Elizabeth and Katherine Letcher and the Anderson children, Alan (Tiana), Matthew and Emileigh. He has a number of extended family members in the area. He had overlapping working experiences at certain points. His primary career was with the US Treasury Department where he served as an agent, then a manager and finally on a task force to deal with bank fraud and money laundering. He was proud of this assignment in its importance to his country. He taught as an adjunct professor at St. Pete college for over 20 years and thoroughly enjoyed that experience. We would like to thank so many people for their kindness and support; longtime friends, wonderful nighbors, Steve’s colleagues from work, sailing and other activities, childhood friends, two very special women: Stacey and Donna, who helped us cope with dark days. Finally, our everlasting gratitude to the Purple Team from Suncoast Hospice, a blessing to our community. There will be a memorial service, 2 pm, Saturday, June 30 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Missouri Ave. (extension of Seminole) in Largo. There will be a reception following the service at the Bayou Club; directions will be provided. Instead of flowers, we suggest memorial gifts to SPCA, Prince of Peace, Suncoast Hospice, The Free Clinic or a charity of your choosing.
