Susan "Peggy" Shobe, 79, of South Pasadena, Florida, died Saturday, October 23, 2010. She was born in Petersburg, West Virginia and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1936 from Leslie, Michigan. Peggy was a 1949 graduate of St. Petersburg High School and worked for the former Webb's City. She then was a closer at West Coast Title Company for 15 years before becoming a Tournament Coordinator for the Women's International Bowling Congress (WIBC), a position she held for 20 years. She later retired from the Pinellas County Tax Collector's office after 10 years service. She played Softball for West Coast Title Company and R. H. Hall Company teams. Peggy was a Charter Member and Past President of the St. Petersburg Women's Bowling Association, and a member of the Bowling Hall Of Fame. She was also a volunteer at the Florida International Museum. Peggy was a long time active member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church where she had served on the Finance and Counting committees, was Sunday School Secretary, the former Adult Five director, and was president of the Sharper Image Sunday School class. She also served twice as the Pictorial Directory Director. She served in the Marine Corps. reserves for three years. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church 4901-5th Ave. No. with Rev. Mickey Burroughs officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the church's Hobson Hall. Private interment will be Monday, November 1, 2010 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
