Thomas Edward Seitz

July 14, 1995 — June 12, 2026

Thomas Edward Seitz, 30, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on June 12th after a courageous battle with cancer.

Thomas was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 14th 1995 to parents Sherrie and Edward Seitz. He was an amazing brother to Brianna (Joey), Jeffrey (Mary), and Jackson. He grew up with a love of all sports, especially baseball. He could recite Lord of the Rings quotes in his sleep, had a passion for travel and history, and a heart of gold. He attended the University of Notre Dame, earning a degree in Accounting. It was there that he met the love of his life, Emily. The two have countless memories in South Bend, Chicago, Atlanta, Omaha, Indianapolis, and ultimately found themselves in St. Petersburg, Florida, where they married on June 14, 2025. Nothing brought them joy quite like a nice walk with their best girl, Ruby.

Thomas is greatly loved by his family, including his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews — Summer, Harper, Bode, Birdie, Shep, his grandmothers Diane and Marilyn, Sissy and his other aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also adored by his mother-in-law, Chris, father-in-law, Jim, brother in-law, Brad (Katherine), sister-in-law, Erin, and Emily’s entire extended family. He leaves behind many friends, whose lives he touched in ways that will never be forgotten.

Thomas was preceded in death by his grandfathers John and John.

Thomas’ battle with cancer was undoubtedly difficult, but he met each day with grace, a positive attitude, and a will to help others.

A funeral Mass will be held at the University of Notre Dame Basilica of the Sacred Heart on Monday, June 22nd at 2:30pm EDT in Notre Dame, IN. Interment immediately following at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Raphael Catholic Church of St. Petersburg in Thomas’ name.
