Debra Jean Monroe 

September 2, 1954 ~ July 3, 2025 

Debra Jean Monore passed away on July 3, 2025, at her home in Lakewood, Colorado with her loving husband Mark Monroe by her side.  She passed away from complications of diabetes and sepsis. 

Debra was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 2, 1954 to parents Eugene and Dorothy. Debra lived in Illinois until moving to Colorado in the early 60's.  She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School, then went to Red Rocks Community College, and then graduated from CSU.  Debra worked for many years at the State Capitol doing a job that she loved.  

Debra met the love of her life Mark Monroe on December 12, 2001, and married in May of 2003.  They build a loving home in Lakewood, Colorado.  Debra loved doing many outdoor activities such as running, (she ran the Bolder Boulder many times), she loved dog training and all sports.  Debra and Mark would spend time traveling and embarking on many adventures together.  Debra was a member of Mile High Church for many years.  

Debra had been batteling Diabetes for many years.  Debra will always be remembered for her amazing smile, friendly and compassionate ways. 

Debra was preceded in death by her loving parents and her brother John. Debra will be missed by everyone knowing and loving her.  

Memorial Service and reception will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Aspen Mortuaries Arvada Chapel, 6370 Union St, Arvada, Colorado 80004.
