1934 - 1925

Arvada, Colorado

Rolland Leon Plamondon, 91, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Plamondon and his four children: Vicky Shepherd (Joseph), Cindy Linhardt (Ronald), Keith Plamondon (Emily) and Timothy Plamondon (Lorna). He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Fitzgerald (Terry).

Rolland is survived by nine grandchildren: Nathan Anderson (Amy), Joseph Shepherd (Sarah), Sara Jennings (Tyler), Daniel Shepherd, Nik Plamondon, Ava Plamondon, Kevin Plamondon, Jake Plamondon (Hannah) and Robert Plamondon (Hannah). He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Taylor Anderson, Kylie Plamondon, Casey Plamondon and Violet Plamondon. He treasured his time with each.

He was born March 27, 1934 to Leon and May (Bartosch) Plamondon in Denver, Colorado. Rolland was the oldest of four children. Brother Jacques Plamondon and Donna Glaze preceded him in death.

He married Dorothy Carol Dillon on September 3, 1954. They located to Arvada in 1956 where it became their permanent home.

Rolland had a long and successful career as a fourth generation pattern maker and had lifelong employment at Atlas Pattern and Model Works in Denver. He eventually became the third owner of the family business. Son Tim and grandson Jake continue the tradition.

Rolland enjoyed the pleasures of Colorado with his love of ice skating, snow and water skiing, flying, fishing and hiking. Additionally, he had a lifelong gift in woodworking and sketching. Many family members proudly own his wooden bowls. His children have memories of opening their sketchbooks to find a drawing of a favorite toy or landscape by him.

Rolland and Dorothy enjoyed their later years traveling; visiting their out of town families and our national sites. They traveled as far as Japan and Okinawa. Their kids would get a call that they decided to pack their trailer, heading out to to the likes of Mount Rushmore, on their way to see their kids/grandkids or into the Colorado Rockies.

Both were involved with the grandchildren; frequently seen at football, hockey, baseball games and personal celebrations.

Rolland will be remembered as gentle, kind, generous and man with a sense of humor. He was devoted to his family, friends and his Savior, Jesus Christ.

His life will be celebrated with two ceremonies:
