In Loving Memory of Joseph W. Harris
Joseph W Harris,89, of Aurora, CO, passed away on 4/27, surrounded by a loving family.
Joseph was born May 11th, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland the son of Edward and Mary Harris.
Joseph graduated from Dunbar High School in 1954, then went on to college, earning an Associate's Degree in Monterey, CA. He was recognized for running track & field in High School, his special touch in photography and a skilled mathematician.
Joseph joined the Army in 1956 and served until honorably discharged in 1979.
Joseph married Sally Adams on August 29, 1958, at a church in Monterey, CA.
Joseph served in the military for 23 years and worked for the Government for 20 more additional years. He worked alongside a Tuskegee Airmen Brigadier General Davis, worked in the Criminal Investigation Division for the Army and had assignments under President Eisenhower in the military. After he retired, he continued his love for photography by taking wedding photos.
Joseph especially loved music and going to the movies. He was also a toastmaster's speaker.
Joseph was a member of Living Water Church where he and Sally attended.
Favorite memories of Joseph and what made him special was that he always went out of his way for other people and he had a secret admiration for baking.
Remaining to cherish Joseph's memory are his spouse, Sally Harris; children, Catherine Harris; grandchildren, Joshua Haris.
Preceding Joseph in death are children, Robert H; parents, Edward and Mary Harris; brothers, Edward Jr Harris; sisters, Dorothy Hill; nieces and nephews, Shirley and Clarence Hill.
Visitation will be held May 22nd at 10:00am at Living Water Church. Funeral/Memorial services will be held after services on May 22nd at Fort Logan, with Pastor Ken officiating.
