Laurie Jean Peckham
Feb 21, 1957 — Jul 18, 2021
In Loving Memory of
Laurie J. Peckham DDS
Laurie passed into God†™s loving arms on July 18, 2021 and we pray that she has found peace, comfort and joy. She is survived by her sister, Leslie Carrico, brother-in-law Dennis, Nephew Eric, Niece Patty, Great nieces Dalila and Lexi and great Nephew Colter, and her longtime friend, Robert Thomas. She was given as a gift from God to both Helen M. Dobrinic-Peckham and Donald A. Peckham, on February 21, 1957.
Laurie was a dentist in both Aurora and Arvada, Colorado for over 35 years. She provided dental services to hundreds of under served members of the community - from foster children, the indigent and aging seniors. Her care and compassion truly shined through as she administered great care to all of her patients.
In her younger years, Laurie was a trumpet virtuoso, always first chair in every orchestra and band. She taught many young trumpet students the art of music, and received awards in debate and public speaking. She graduated as Valedictorian from Highland High School, class of 1975 and proceeded to pursue a pre-med degree at Colorado University, Boulder achieving the great distinction of Summa Cum Laude. Laurie went onto attend C.U. Dental school, graduating in the top 2% of her class in 1983. Throughout the following years, she received many awards for her professionalism and excellence.
She was the loving mom to her two dogs, Rusty and Waldo, and her cats, April and Carmel. May she be reunited with them up in heaven.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the Humane Society to help out rescues in need.
