In Loving Memory of Lloyd "Rick" Shaw

Rick was a devoted father, papa, loved one, and friend. You could always count on him showing up in a ball cap, sunglasses, and a bright smile. Lloyd 'Rick' Joseph Shaw, 68, of Aurora, Colorado, died from lung cancer on February 7, 2026.

He was born in South Haven, Michigan, in 1957 to Lloyd M. Shaw and Juanita Smith. Rick attended Benton Harbor High School before starting his journey as a truck driver.

Father to Jermaine (Andrea) Shaw, Raven Shaw, and Jaden Shaw. He was a proud and loving Grandpa and Papa to Heavan, Larenze, Stazia, and Makai Shaw: the youngest who brought immense joy to his life.

Rick's recent employment was at SRM Concrete in Aurora and worked for the company for the last six years. He attended Calvary Church in Aurora and loved to listen to Pastor Ed teach.

Everyone who knew Rick knew how much he loved his family time, playing games, laughing, listening to Kenny G, or riding bikes.

Rick will always be remembered for his contagious smile, gentle demeanor, and love for his family.

We will miss Rick but are blessed to know of his salvation in Jesus and will reunite with him in glory one day.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Shaw and Juanita Smith; and his siblings, John Cook, John Outly, and Robert Outly.Rick is survived by his children and grandchildren, siblings (Marian Varnado and Cathy Newton (Donald)), and sister-in-law Jackie Cook.

He was previously married to Spring Shaw and Angela Balo.

He will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.
