Jane Marie Liupakka

Jane Marie (Juntunen) Liupakka, age 83, of Esko, MN, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at her home.

Jane Juntunen was born on October 15, 1942, the daughter of the late Edwin and Beatrice (Lehto) Juntunen, Jr. She was raised in Esko and graduated from Esko High School in 1960. On April 15, 1961, she was married to her grade school sweetheart, Frank Liupakka, in Esko. They made their home in Esko where she was a devoted wife and mother, raising their 3 children, Jana, Jody, and Russell. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and was a self-taught painter and watercolor artist. She especially enjoyed being hostess and entertaining friends and family at her home with impeccable attention to detail. She was also very proud of her gardening and landscaping and took great pride in showing friends and family so they could feel the same joy it gave to her. She was also an active and lifelong member of Esko Apostolic Lutheran Church and loved the Lord with all her heart. Most of all she enjoyed life’s adventures with the love of her life, Frank, whether it be fishing the great lakes or travelling the world together, they made the most of every moment they had.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Jana Richardson (Ryan Loft) and Jody Eichhorst (Nathan); son, Russell Liupakka (Jill); grandchildren, Kyle, Drew (Jessica), and Abigail Richardson, Ryan Eichhorst (Cobby), Leah Schmidt (Josh), and Zachary (Kayli Fuhrman), Joshua (Sarah), and Grace Liupakka; great-grandchildren, Beckham and Wyndham Schmidt and Frederick Liupakka; half-siblings, Fayth, Dawn, Duane, David, Cheryl, and Freda; and sisters-in-law, Mary Maher and Carol Rice; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Frank Liupakka; parents, Edwin and Beatrice Juntunen, Jr.; and sister, Judy Somero.

Memorial service for Jane will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Apostolic Lutheran Church in Esko, MN, with a time for visitation 1 hour before the service. Inurnment will take place at Apostolic Lutheran Church Cemetery in Esko, MN.
