June Evelyn Bong, 87, of Cloquet, died Friday, September 25, 2020 in Chris Jensen Nursing Home, Duluth. She was born June 18, 1933 in Brevator Township, the daughter of Leonard and Cora Berglund and was raised on the family farm in Brookston.
June was a 1951 graduate of Brookston High School. Later that year, she married Carl Bong in Cloquet. June was a homemaker and worked in the fabric department at White Mart in Cloquet. One of her greatest joys was the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved keeping in touch with her school friends. June enjoyed flower gardening, baking, sewing and taking care of her cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; two daughters, Cheryl Limmer and Penny Bong and two siblings, Robert Berglund and Dorothy Bassett.
June is survived by two sons, Kris of Cloquet and Richard (Veronica) of Mora; grandchildren, Kym, Amy, Casey, Lenny, Erik and Dani; 10 great grandchildren; and two siblings, Russell (Janice) Berglund of Carlton and Janet Johnson of Duluth.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service, Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Essentia Hospice.
