After serving in the Coast Guard, his love of academics led him to the University of Pittsburgh where he obtained his undergrad and doctorate in Electrical Engineering in 1964.
He launched his career at RCA in the space program as a Staff Engineer involved in the missile test program. He was eventually lured away from RCA by a friend to fulfill his lifelong ambition to teach at a university which began his career at Florida Institute of Technology as a department head of engineering, where he is considered one of the founding pioneers. Harry was a Professor Emeritus and was involved in the university to the end.
Harry loved his family and close friends, music, fishing and the Pittsburgh Steelers, he will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn R Weber, daughter Lisa Jinkins and husband Jack, sons David C Weber and wife Terry, and William Weber and wife Danielle, his grandchildren Sheri, Madison, Harry, Taylor, Devin, Nikki and Christopher.
Visitation will be held at Beach Funeral Home - East on Wed., Nov. 15, from 4-6 pm. Service will be held on Thurs., Nov. 16, 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Florida Institute of Technology, Harry P. Weber archive fund.
