It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Robert Alan Olsen on April 19, 2026. He left us peacefully at home in the company of his daughter Laurie leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and dedication.

Robert was a proud graduate of Duxbury High School, where he laid the groundwork for a life marked by courage and perseverance. His patriotic spirit led him to serve in the United States Marine Corps from 1950 to 1953, where he was a member of the renowned George Company 3rd Battalion 1st Marines, affectionately known as "Bloody George." His service to his country was a testament to his unwavering sense of duty and commitment.

After his military service, Robert returned to civilian life with a determination to build a future for his family. He became a successful business owner and painting contractor, known for his integrity, craftsmanship, and dedication to his clients and community. His work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were an inspiration to all who knew him.

Robert's passion extended beyond his work; he was a man of diverse interests and hobbies. He had a keen eye for collecting military memorabilia and cherished his collections of antique automobiles and coins. His enthusiasm for these hobbies mirrored his zest for life and the joy he found in preserving history and beauty.

A man of community and fellowship, Father was an active member of several organizations, including the American Legion, the Elks Club, VFW, DAV, The Space Coast Mustang and Thunderbird Clubs, and The American Antique Automobile Club. Through these associations, he cultivated lifelong friendships and made significant contributions to his community.

Robert's legacy lives on in his surviving family: his children, Robert Olsen Jr., Kathy Barbieri, Laurie A. Olsen. He leaves behind five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his stories, and wisdom. His nephews, too, will remember him fondly for his guidance and generosity.

As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we celebrate the life of Robert “Bob” Olsen Sr.-a life filled with love, service, and cherished memories.

May his journey beyond be as peaceful as the love he left behind, and may his spirit continue to inspire and guide us.
