Beverly Rivera

April 25, 1953 — April 18, 2014

Beverly Ann Rivera, lovingly known as ""Babs"", passed away on Good Friday- April 18, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Babs was born on April 25th, 1953 in Beverly, Massachusetts to Paul D. and Erma M.(McLean) Bushek where she grew up on ""Goat Hill"" and attended Beverly schools. Babs relocated to Cocoa Beach, FL in 1992 to raise her children, and be closer to her family. She was a very popular employee working at Bernard's Surf while furthering her education at both Keiser University and Florida Metropolitan University where she obtained her Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. She went on to be a Probation Officer for the Brevard County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 2010 As a retiree, Babs worked and volunteered at the Cocoa Beach VFW. She was also an active member of the Women's Auxiliary. The great friends she made at the ""V"" were her second family and they were always there for each other. Babs possessed a beautiful, contagious smile, entertaining sense of humor, and was at ease in any conversation. Babs never met a stranger. Her signature gift of joy, laughter and joking around will never be forgotten. She was so many things to so many people, and will be truly missed Babs was predeceased by her father Paul. She is survived by her mother, Erma M. Bushek of Cape Canaveral, FL; her two children, Paul J. Rivera of Cocoa Beach, FI, Bianca A. Cappello and husband Charles of Lahaina, HI. She will also be sadly missed by her two grandchildren, Gemma and Caleb; as well as her siblings, Jeffery P. Bushek and wife Pamela; nephew, Daniel Bushek all of Coral Springs FL., Lee A. Bushek of Rockledge, FL. Heidi Johnson and husband Hallet of Cocoa Beach, FL. Also mourning her loss is her beloved pug ""Tommy"". The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support they all received throughout the community during a very difficult time. A special thank-you to the ICU staff at Cape Canaveral Hospital for their hard work and compassion. Also, the family would like to thank the Cocoa Beach VFW for organiZing and hosting a wonderful evening honoring Babs.
