Dorothy Cook

Dorothy Louise Cook Rockledge, Florida Dorothy Louise Cook, 84, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009. She was born in Lithia Springs, Georgia on February 9, 1925. She graduated from Douglas County High School and Marsh Business College. After graduating she worked for War Assets, Sears, and Rich's Department Store. She married her husband Robert on October 6, 1947. While he was in the U.S. Army, the family traveled extensively. Upon his retirement from the Army in 1963, the family moved to Rockledge, Florida where she worked for Wuesthoff Memorial Hospital. Dorothy is survived by her daughters Clara Cook of Tallahassee, Donna (Neal) Kirschner of Rockledge, Deborah (Dan) Thoms of Palm Bay, and Kim (Duncan) MacKenzie of Rockledge; sons Douglas (Candi) Cook, and Timothy Cook; 13 grandkids: Nicole, Cliff, Aaron, Bryan, Haley, Connor, Caelan, Janelle, Emily, Alexis, Maddie, Marissa, and Duncan; and sister Mary Hood of Georgia. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert and son Dennis. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm. at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Viera. Internment will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
