Fay Chambliss Johnson

Fay Chambliss Johnson passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on May 13. Fay was born on October 19, 1930 in Columbus, GA. At age 16 she contracted polio and spent time in Warm Springs, GA. where she met her future husband, John Logan Johnson of Tulsa, OK. She is survived by son, Floyd Johnson, and his wife, Patricia, of Tampa, daughter, Kay Johnson of Asheville, NC, sister, Sue Chambliss, of Columbus, GA. She is predeceased by brothers Floyd, Jack, and Leon Chambliss, and sisters Nell Wilson and Kay Kovak. Fay had a rich and wonderful life and was very active in the community. She was an appreciator of the arts and co-founded Musical Theatre of Brevard with her late sister, Kay Kovac. Early in her career she worked for the Orlando Sentinel as a photographer and columnist. Fay worked at the space center, the IRS, and PAFB in recruiting, from which she retired in 1995. Fay's positive personality and joy of life will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach Friday, May 21st at 3 pm.
