Francis B. McPhillips went home to the Lord on February 10, 2010. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on January 13, 1919. As a young child, he moved to Tampa, Fl. He served his country in WWII as a radio operator for General Mark Clark. He became a lifelong ham radio operator (W4FMY). His interests included: fishing, flying, skydiving, hunting, and astronomy. Also, he was an avid runner and finished the NY marathon at the spry age of 72. He was co-owner of Hillsboro Bottle Gas Company. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, daughters, Jacqueline and Barbara, son Michael, three stepchildren, brothers Earl and Al, sister, Grace, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He lived a full and happy life, touched all who knew him, and will be dearly missed. Military Services will be held at 11:30AM Tuesday, February 16th at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
