Howard J. K. Fichtl

Howard J. K. Fichtl, 72, of Cocoa Beach, died Friday, March 19, 2010. Howard was born in Corona Queens, NY. He spent 27 Years serving in Submarines for the U.S. Navy completing his career in 1982 as Master Chief of The Command at NOTU. He was Manager of Assembly operations for the Shuttle boosters for Thiokol until 1992. He was predeceased by his parents Julius Fichtl and Elsa Eckhart Fichtl and his first wife Elizabeth Lange Fichtl. He is survived by his wife Connie McCoy Fichtl of Cocoa Beach; son Karl Fichtl (Shirley) of Port St. John; sister, Frieda Kirchner; and three granddaughters Laura, Clarissa and Kayla. Visitation will be at 2:00 Wednesday March 24th at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach with services at 3:00. Interment will be later at Arlington National Cemetery.
