Joan M. Hinerman

Joan M. Hinerman, age 87, resident of Cocoa Beach, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. She was born August 31, 1922 in Glendale, WV to the late Elbert and Edna Kester McMechen. She attended West Virginia University before moving to New York City in 1942 to pursue a modeling career. In 1955, she returned to her hometown where she met and later married Richard L. Hinerman. She and Rich raised two children in Moundsville, WV. In 1989, she moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida where she resided until her passing. Joan was preceded by her husband, Rich, and siblings Don, Benjamin, Ken, and Mary Jane. She is survived by her son and wife Richard Scott and Wendy of Wheeling, WV; daughter and husband Wendy and Mark Gordon of Cocoa Beach, FL; brothers Elbert ""Mickey"" McMechen, of Belleview, FL and Guy McMechen (Sheila) of Merritt Island, FL; Four grandchildren, Katie and Will, Wheeling, WV and Hannah and Abigail, Cocoa Beach, FL. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach. . Graveside services will be held at a later date in Moundsville, WV, where she will be interned next to her husband.
