John Leonard

John H. Leonard, 85, passed away peacefully at home Friday, May 15, 2009. Col. Leonard retired in 1979 from PAFB, after 33 years as a Staff Judge Advocate. He was a pilot and an Airplane Commander of a B-24 crew during WWII. He later served on the Board of Directors of Space Coast Credit Union for 35 years. He also was an attorney and a retired member of the Florida Bar. John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean; sons, John and Jim (Alice); daughter Juli (Cliff) Denney; brother, Jerry (Dot); sister, Mary (Jerry); 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. John was a wonderful family man who never met a stranger, left smiles and good will, wherever he went. A memorial mass will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday, May 26th at the Church of Our Saviour in Cocoa Beach.
