Judith Johnson Hall

October 30, 1949 — May 15, 2009

Judith (Judy) Johnson Hall, 59, peacefully passed away Friday, May 15, 2009, with her loving husband, Rick, at her side. Judy was born in Philadelphia, PA. On October 30, 1949, to Terry and Perry Johnson. Spending most of her youth in Woodbury, NJ, she was Salutatorian of her graduating class at Woodbury HS. She then attended, and graduated from, Ithaca College in Ithaca NY, where she majored in English. A prime attraction of studying at Ithaca was its proximity to Keuka Lake where Judy and her family spent vacations since her birth. After college, Judy moved back to the Woodbury area where she began a long career as a High School English teacher. She taught for a number of years at Delsea Regional High School, but the love of Polynesian/Hawaiian dancing, instilled in by her mother, drew her to Honolulu, where she continued teaching English while learning advanced techniques in Hawaiian dance. While in Hawaii, Judy also became a certified ballroom dance instructor, and taught at Arthur Murray studios. In 1989 Judy moved to Melbourne to be near her parents, and in that same year, met her future husband, Rick on the dance floor. Around this same time, she began teaching English at Satellite HS, remaining there until retiring in 2006. While teaching at Satellite, she created a Ballroom dance class, which became one of the most popular classes at the school. Judy bravely fought and overcame many daunting physical challenges during the last 13 years of her life. She was a devoted and much loved wife, daughter, sister, teacher and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Rick, mother Terry Johnson Scott, and brother and sister-in-law, Dion and Suzie Johnson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to multiplemyeloma.org or to pulmonaryfibrosis.org. At Judy's request, there will be no funeral nor service.
