Kathryn Lynn Hubbard

Kathryn Lynn ""Kacs"" ""Kathy"" Hubbard, 59, of Cape Canaveral, FL passed away after a short illness Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Cape Canaveral Hospital. She was born in DeLand, FL and had lived in Brevard County since 1973. She graduated with honors from DeLand High School in 1969 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stetson University in 1973. Kathy taught for 20 years at Cocoa Beach High School where she received District Teacher of the Year. She then transferred to Cocoa High School for 12 years where she again was Teacher of the Year. Kathy was a member of Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority and Our Saviour's Catholic Church where she was a Lector and co-chairman of the Rides Committee for the Fall Festival for 20 years. She loved sports especially, tennis, golf, softball and horseback riding. She was preceded in death by her father, John H. Hubbard. Kathy is survived by her mother, Betty Hubbard of DeLand, FL; sister, Star (Michael) Cook of DeLeon Springs, FL; nephew Michael Cook, Jr.; niece, Channing Cook of West Palm Beach, FL; two aunts and seven cousins. Calling hours will be from 1:30pm until 2:30pm Monday, April 19, 2010 at Church of Our Saviours Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 3pm. Interment will follow at Brevard Memorial Park. Donations may be made in her name to Our Saviour's Catholic School, 5301 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach, FL 32931.
