L. Barry Laur

L. Barry Laur, 83, retired PGA Golf Professional, died Friday, December 4, 2009 in Cocoa Beach. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Bonnie; children, Stewart Laur, Curtis Barry Laur and Morgan Laur Reinman; grandchildren, James Barry, Anastasia and Abby; and his loving cats, Smokey and Silver. Barry honorably served his country in the US Army during WWII. He had a good life, doing what he enjoyed. For 19 years, he gave a free Junior Golf program weekly and provided free golf clubs when needed. He was a quiet and unique man with a subtle sense of humor. He excelled at Golf, Bowling, Bridge, Pool, Ping Pong, Marbles & Jacks and made his secret recipe salad dressings. Robert W. Service was his favorite poet. He could recite many by heart. Barry will be truly missed. A Celebration of Barry's Life will be held at El Charros in Cocoa at 5:30pm on Monday, December 28, 2009.
