FLYNN LEO A
A Mass of Christian Burial for Leo A. Flynn, 83, will be offered at 2pm, Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Divine Mercy Church of Merritt Island, Florida.
Mr. Flynn, a native of Buffalo NY, died Monday, March 22, at the Health Center of Merritt Island after a long illness.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Louise (Wildner); two brothers Maurice and Thomas, two sister Patricia Tyrell and Rita Walsh; children, William (Jackie), Mary (Stephen) Commins, Maureen Bacon, Michael, and Ann (Bart) Cannizzaro; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren
After graduating from Canisius College in Buffalo NY, Leo served in the United States Navy. His career continued when he became a Certified Public Accountant and established his own business serving small corporations for 35 years.
Leo was a Fourth Degree member and Treasurer of Kenmore Council 3076 of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He was also an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
After retiring to Florida in 1997, Mr. Flynn became an active member of Divine Mercy Church where he became treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He and his wife served as leaders in their Small Christian Communities group. He was also a volunteer income tax assistance for a number of years.
