Marion Beverly Sikes, 71, of Cocoa Beach, died Wednesday, July 14,2010, at her home. Born on November 20, 1938, in Albany, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Duron Smith and Lorraine Smith and sister to the late Lynn D. Moss of Alpharetta, Georgia and Charlene Gray of Valdosta, Georgia. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and an example of strength and courage to all.
Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Col. Jackie E. (Jack) Sikes (ret.) of Cocoa Beach; son, Paul B. Sikes and his wife Misti of Rockledge; daughter Dana Sikes and her fiancee, Michael Prince of Cocoa Beach; grandchildren Sophia Prince of Cocoa Beach, Reznor and Darren Day and Astrid Phillips of Rockledge; nephews, Britt Cody of Atlanta, Scott Cody and his wife Diane of Valdosta; niece, Eve Gray of Atlanta; good friends Sandra Loftin of Valdosta and Barbara Banister and Marti Speed, both of Cocoa Beach; and cousin, Linda Bagwell of Atlanta.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta with the Rev. Bob Willis officiating.
