Formerly Chief, Communications-Electronics Programs Management Branch, 485th Engineering Installation group, Griffis A.F.B. New York. Died Sunday July 11, 2010 at Courtenay Springs Village Health Center, Merritt Island.
Mr. Wilson was born in New York city. He came to Brevard County in 1995 from upstate New York. He graduated from State University of New York College of Technology, Utica, NY in 1980. He was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Community in Viera, Fl.
Martin was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He served with the U.S. Air Force units worldwide in a military or civilian capacity for 38 years. His military decorations included the Meritorious Service Medal, the AF Commendation Medal w/4 OLC, the National Defense Service Medal w/1 BS, the Vietnam Service Medalw/2 BS, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Air Force Association.
During 2003-2005, Mr. Wilson served as a Volunteer Counselor, for the Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders (SHINE) organization at the Wuesthoff Hospital on Melbourne, Fl.
Survivors include his loving wife Stella of Suntree, Fl, daughter Deborah Conklin and her husband Robert of Hockessin, DE. Son Scott Wilson and his wife Jana of Jacksonville, Fl., son Mark Wilson and his wife Laura of Stittville , NY., brother William Wilson of Palm City, Fl, sister Florence Goodison of Stuart, Fl., granddaughter Stephanie Wilson, grandsons Ronald Wilson, Daniel Conklin, Christopher Wilson, and Ryan Conklin.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 16, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St.John the Evangelist Catholic Church 5655 Stadium Pkwy, Viera, Fl. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, with Full Military honors.
