Biography
Mary Motyka, 89, of Merritt Island, Florida passed away on Thursday, December24, 2009. She was born in Czechoslovakia and came to the United States as a young woman and settled in Yonkers, New York. She worked for the Technicon Corporation until her retirement in 1989 and later moved to Merritt Island, Florida to be close to family.
She will be most remembered for her dedication to family and for reaching out to those without.
She is survived by her cousins, Rudy Fecik and his wife, Marion of Cape Canaveral, and their children and Marta Plecenikova and her husband, Pual of Merritt Island, and their children, as well as her step-sister, Helen Rudyova, sister-in-law, Mana Motykova, nephews, Peter and John Motyka, niece Irene Motykova, and cousin, Stano Fecik and their families, all of Slovakia, and many loving cousins residing in the Ukraine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Church of Our Saviour Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach followed by interment at Florida Memorial Gardens.
