Ray Painton, Sr

Ray W. Painton, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Holmes Regional Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Irene, and their children, Ray William Painton, Jr. (Mary) of Brigantine, NJ, Kathryne Schrell (Ronald) of Tega Cay, SC, Cheryl Nylund (Kirk) of Macon, GA, and six grandchildren; Christopher Nylund, Matthew Nylund, Adrian Schrell, Sebastian Schrell, Rae Louise Painton, Michael Painton. He was predeceased by his brother Richard and daughter, Beth Ann. He was born October 14, 1922 in Williamsport, PA. He graduated from Montoursville High School and Penn State University. He served in the Navy during World War II. He spent 5 years in Colombia, SA, working for Sears. After returning to the states, he went to work for Wheaton Plastics, where he retired in 1986. He enjoyed fishing, golf, traveling and family. Ray will be dearly missed. Family will greet friends from 2 till’ 3pm on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach, with a memorial service to follow at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation (www.alzfdn.org) or First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach.
