Richard Harris, Sr

Richard Edward Harris, Sr. 71, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010 in Gainesville, Fl. Dick was born in Miami, Fl and was a 21 year veteran of the U.S .Navy and had retired from the Brevard County School Board after 25 years and then quoting his grandson Mikey he spent the next four years “chilling at the fish store.” He is survived by his wife Alice of 46 years, his daughters Sharlene Dillon and Rhonda Mathews and son Richard E. Harris, Jr. Two grandsons Michael Dillon and Richard Harris III. Brother; Francis Harris and two sisters Lillian Dickinson and Dorothy Verdonk and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 5-6Pm at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home 5400 Village Drive, Viera, Fla. where funeral services will be held at 6:00PM. Interment will be held Thursday March 11, 2010 at 11:30AM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with Full Military Honors given by the U.S. Navy.
