Rose Mary Wells, 87
Rose Mary Wells, 87, of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, passed away August 28, 2014 in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
A memorial service will be held in Cocoa Beach, Florida at the Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home on September 6, 2014 at 12:00 noon. A second memorial service will be held in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in November around Thanksgiving. Details will be announced at a later date.
Rose was born in Detroit, Michigan to Howard and Selma Nahra on April 6, 1927. She attended Hazel Park High School and graduated in 1945. She went on to earn baccalaureate and a masters of arts degrees in education from Michigan State University. Rose Mary was an outstanding teacher at both the college and elementary school levels. The highlight of her teaching career was being awarded Teacher of the Year in the Birmingham School District in 1987. She was an avid bridge player and spent several years competing in local tournaments. She loved reading, movies and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Rose is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Rupert Ward Wells; parents, Howard and Selma Nahra; a brother, Ferris Nahra; two sisters, Annie Kedzierski and Jeannette Nahra; and two children, Howard and Kathryn Wells.
Rose is survived by her sisters, Lorice Bassett of Southfield, Michigan and Mathilda Liberman of Chicago, Illinois; son Jeffery (Tee) Wells; daughters Deanne (Patrick) Spielmacher and Judith (Doug Swenson) Budd; and her nine loving grandchildren Nancy Fryczynski, Jeremy, Jacob, Thaila, Joshua and TeeraRose Wells, Noah and Jack Budd, and Kristina Rose Swenson.
