Sylvia Dora Vanbibber
December 26, 1917 — April 18, 2010
Our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away early Sunday morning, April 18, 2010. Sylvia was born in Boston, MA, December 26, 1917 to father Silverio Silverio and mother Maria(Presutti) Silverio. She was the only sister to her three brothers, Mario, Albert (deceased) and August. She grew up in Everett and Milton, MA and worked in Boston as a bookkeeper. She married Max Van Bibber, an artist and cartoonist of the nationally syndicated comic strip "Winnie Winkle". They raised two children, and lived in Quaker Hill and Old Saybrook, CT; after her husband's demise, she moved to Cocoa Beach, FL. She was caring and compassionate and volunteered her time and talent working for her parish, in nursing homes, soup kitchens, Meals-on-Wheels and Birthright; she gave of herself and brought a smile to every person she knew. She is survived by daughter Claudia and her husband Stephen Beckwith (Cocoa Beach) and son Karl Van Bibber (Berkeley, CA), brother Mario and wife Minnie (Fernandina Beach, FL), brother August and wife Margaret (Bridgewater, MA), and Ruthanne wife of Albert (deceased) of Hamilton, VA. We will miss her big heart and spirit; she was our angel and our sunshine. Family welcomes donations and contributions to Birthright or Meals-on-Wheels in your location. The funeral Mass at Our Saviors will be Friday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m.
