William Joseph Fortier

William Fortier, 71, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Cape Canaveral Hospital. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and had lived in Brevard County since 1999. Bill retired from the New York State Department of Corrections. He was a quarterback for his for his high school and college football teams and was a long time Pop Warner football coach. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Bill is survived by his wife, Sondra; children, William Fortier, Jr., James Fortier, Michelle Knibbs, Lisa (Keith) Elman, Stephen Fortier, Nevaeh Fortier, Renee Fellone, Laurie (Doug) Wampler and Joseph Metzger III; ten grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia O'Connor and parents, Ovelina and William Fortier. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Loyal Order of the Moose or to a charity of your choice.
