Biography
Colonel William A. “Bill” Rogge, Jr. USAF, Retired, 88 , beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home in Viera Fl on Friday, August 7, 2009.
He will be remembered by his family and friends and for his service to his country, his humor, his love for golf and love for his family. Col. Rogge was a thirty year veteran pilot of the US Air Force serving at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio; Athens, Greece; Charleston AFB, SC; McGuire AFB, NJ; and Scott AFB, ILL;
Bill was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Duffy Rogge and his brothers, John and Stanley Rogge.
He is survived by his sister, Ann Driscoll of Ocean City, MD, his sister in law, Johnnie Rogge of Stuart, FL, his daughters, Phyllis Fitzpatrick and husband Jim, Patricia (Kelley) Littell and husband Bill, his sons, William A. Rogge III and wife Debbie and James P. Rogge, He was grandfather to William A. Rogge IV and wife Amy, Bethany Corona and husband Robert, Kate Fitzpatrick, Maggie and Will Littell, and great grandfather to Aiden Corona. He also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces and nephews in the Rogge and Driscoll families. The family is extremely grateful to the home health aides and nurses for their exceptional devotion and loving care for the past year.
Col. Rogge will be laid to rest on August 28, 2009 at 1:30P.M. at Beaufort National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu flowers, donation may be made to Vista Hospice of Brevard County, 4450 West Eau Gallie Boulevard, Suite 280, Melbourne, Florida 32934.
