Albert Edmond Laferte

Jul 9, 1934 — Jul 2, 2026

Albert Laferte, a devoted man of faith, family, and service to his country, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by love, duty, and unwavering commitment to those he cherished most.

Albert was married 71 years to his beloved wife, Yvonne Laferte, the first and only true love of his life. Their marriage was a rare and enduring partnership built on love, faith, loyalty, and sacrifice — a bond that became the foundation of a remarkable family.

He is survived by his wife, their seven children,18 grandkids, 34 great grandkids and 1 great great grandkid - each of whom carries forward his values and his example. He is also survived by his sister, Priscilla Lavertu (Don Lavertu) and sister-in-laws, Jean Goodwin (Leo Goodwin), Shirley Nunley (Chuck Nunley), late sister Claire Trudel (Jules Trudel) and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Born on July 9, 1934, Manchester, NH, Albert lived a life marked by purpose and dedication.

He served his country with distinction for nearly three decades in the United States Army, building a career marked by leadership, technical expertise, and dedication to those under his command. An accomplished Army aviator, he flew fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, including service as a Caribou pilot during the Vietnam War.

His military career included command and senior logistics positions throughout the United States as well as multiple overseas assignments and key leadership roles in Vietnam and Germany.

Upon retiring from the military, he continued to make an impact on the world as a High School teacher, helping shape the minds and hearts of hundreds of young people. Even after retirement from teaching, he could not stop working and actively volunteered in his community and church for many years.

While Albert’s life included many accomplishments and responsibilities, those who knew him best understood that his true focus was always on God, family, and country — in that order. His faith guided his decisions, his family anchored his heart, and his country inspired his service.

Of all the roles he held throughout his life, however, the ones he treasured most were those closest to home: Husband, Father, and Pepere. He took immense pride in his family, finding his greatest joy in the lives of his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Albert will be remembered for his strength of character, his quiet devotion, and the enduring love he shared with those around him. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the lives he touched, and the family he held so dear.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
