Patricia Tilson

d. April 18, 2026

Patricia (Pat) Horton Tilson 86, of Viera, Florida passed away peacefully at her home on April 18, 2026 with loving family members and friends at her side.

She was pre-deceased by her devoted and loving husband of 50+ years Paul E. Tilson, her parents Nicholas and Agnes Longo, and her sisters Lorraine, Marion, and Joan.

Pat is survived by her sons Michael E. Tilson (Kari) and Scott E. Tilson (Debbie). Pat was a loving Grandmother to Michael, Chris, Connor, Nick, and Emma and Great Grandmother to Madeline, Carter, and Bailey. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Charlie Radford, her nephew Joe de Cillis (Rhonda), her grandnephew Nick Wdowski as well as many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends across the country.

Pat was born in New York City and grew up in New York with her adopted Longo family and in Jacksonville, Florida with her grandmother Margherita Fetter.

She raised her sons Michael and Scott as a hard-working divorced mother until 1971 when she met Paul, a U.S. Navy aviator, while traveling with her two young sons on a flight from New York to Jacksonville. Pat and Paul married and Paul adopted Michael and Scott. Pat and Paul thoroughly enjoyed their years together until his untimely death in 2024. Through her marriage to Paul, Pat also became a life-long Virginia Tech Hokie fan.

Pat held a number of jobs during her life including as a surgical technician and as a top selling real estate agent with Weichert Realty in Virginia. After retiring from their careers, Paul and Pat moved to Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) from Virginia in 2005. During their retirement, they enjoyed their friends, family, many hobbies, and especially traveling including on 47 cruises together.

She was a wonderful example to all who knew her as she exemplified both the fruits of hard work and passionate devotion to her family and friends.

Pat’s funeral service will be held at Prince of Peace Anglican church at 11 am on May 12th. Afterwards Pat will re-united with her beloved Paul at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

While Pat enjoyed flowers, her wish, in lieu of flowers, is that any donations be made in her honor to Prince of Peace Anglican Church, Viera, Florida, the IRCC Foundation, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
