Richard K Cleveland

April 25, 1937 — August 25, 2025

Fair winds and following seas, Sir

Richard Cleveland was born in 1937 and raised in coastal Massachusetts. From a young age, he developed a lifelong love of the sea and the Boston Red Sox. He was a proud graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at King’s Point, NY. He served as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy including multiple combat tours and visited numerous foreign ports. While on active duty, he fulfilled the strenuous requirements to earn his MBA from National University. After retiring from the Navy, he continued to work in the maritime services and other industries.

He and his wife traveled extensively, preferring to go by ship when possible. He was a resident of Brevard County for over 30 years during which he found the time to establish and run the local chapter of the King’s Point Alumni Association and serve on numerous community association boards and committees.

He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 65 years, three children, five grandchildren, and a great grandson.

Flowers are wonderful, a donation to the charity of your choice, or a shared hug would all be cherished. Richard’s favorite charities were the USO and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
