Sharon Elaine Kohler
May 31, 1942 — Jun 12, 2026
Sharon Elaine Kohler, a woman of faith, a cherished mother, and a steadfast anchor for her family, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, on May 31, 1942, Sharon was the beloved daughter of Frank Petrille and Florence Hoffman. She grew up in a warm Catholic home, where the values of love, service, and devotion were woven into the fabric of her life. Sharon’s early years in Detroit were marked by the close bonds of family, especially with her sisters—Dolores Braekevelt, who preceded her in death, and Dawn Engels.
In her adult life Sharon married and welcomed four wonderful children: Jerry (wife Kim), Julie, David (wife Kim), and Dale (wife Jen). Her love for her children was boundless; she was their steadfast supporter, confidante, and source of laughter. Through her guidance, Sharon nurtured a thriving next generation—grandchildren Chevy, Crystall, Ryan (deceased), Rick (wife Elizabeth), Karen, Tanner, Makena, and Logan—and was blessed with seven great‑grandchildren.
After marrying and starting her family, Sharon made her home in California before settling in Melbourne, Florida, in the late 1990s. There she served with dedication in Production Control at Patrick Air Force Base, a career she pursued with the same humility and diligence that marked every facet of her life. Upon retirement, she embraced the joys of family life even more fully.
Sharon’s heart was as vibrant as her smile. A soft‑spoken yet fiery spirit, she was quick with a joke, a warm laugh, and a kind word. She found great pleasure in camping with her loved ones and doing arts‑and‑crafts. Her hands were often busy knitting, her competitive side shone while bowling and playing bunco, and her social nature made every gathering brighter.
Sharon will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, a cherished sister, and a faithful friend. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the family she held together, and the quiet strength she embodied. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, yet her love and laughter will remain forever in our hearts.
We request in lieu of flowers that you make a donation to Sait Jude Children's research Hospital. This organization held a special place in Sharon's heart, and we know this would mean so much to her. Thank you and God bless.
