George William Healas

December 23, 1960 — July 9, 2016

George passed away after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Detroit, Michigan moved to North Olmsted, Ohio. He attended two high schools his senior year of high school, North Olmsted High and Cleveland Aviation High. Cleveland Aviation High is where he discovered his love of airplanes. He went to Kent State University to get his degree in Mechanical Engineering. His family moved to Idaho in 1980 and he transferred to the University of Idaho. In the summers he worked at the Hewlett-Packard Company in Boise where he met his wife, Dawnita. He graduated from the U of I in 1984 with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering and married that same year. He worked for Micron Technology for a short time and then went to work at Boeing for almost 31 years. He was a Senior Manager working on the 777X Manufacturing Operations Commercial Airplane at the time of his death. George had two wonde children in whom he loved very much. He is survived by his wife, Dawnita (Dietrich), his daughter, Sara (Eric) Healas Anderson, son, William Healas, sister, Meg (Sid Spinner) Healas, brother, John (Liz) Healas, aunt, Mary Stevens, mother-in-law, Anita, sister-in-law, Teresa, two brother-in-laws, Matt Dave, a niece, Kera, two nephews, Luke Sydney and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Don, mother, Helen, father-in-law, Terry Dietrich and niece Miranda Oneida.A Celebration of Life will be held on July 30, 2016 at McMenamins, Anderson School in Bothell, WA at 1:00 P.M. George was an organ donor both his corneas were donated to two very lucky people.
