Marjorie Overa

Marjorie (Marge) Overa was born on October 9, 1925 in Hebburn, England to Karl and Martha Tilander and died on January 14, 2014 at the age of 88.The Tilander family immigrated from England to Toronto Canada where she met her future husband Torkjell (Kjell) Overa while he was training with the Royal Norwegian Air Force near Toronto. Following the war, Marjorie crossed the Atlantic to marry Kjell in Sykkylven Norway in November 1945. That same year, they moved to Toronto and in 1951 immigrated to Seattle. In November 1954 they became US Citizens.In the early years, Marge was content to be a wife and mother, raising 3 children. She was active in the Church and later became a part time office assistant for the Seattle Public schools at an elementary school in North Seattle. Marge became very close to her nieces and nephews, loving them as her own.Marge was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years in 2004 and is survived by son Karsten Overa (Carol) of Mill Creek, WA; daughter Susan Johnson (Andy) of Edmonds WA; son Ken Overa (Janet) of Anacortes, WA; grandchildren Keith (Mollie), Kevin (Jil), Carrie, Patrick (Marianne) Andrew (Ashlen), Kailah (Akeem), Annalea and Griffin; and great grandchildren Ryan, Eli, Shayne, Alex, Karyssa, Cooper, Holden and Rahloe.Marge is remembered for her sense of humor, love of family and her faith in God. May she be at Peace with her beloved Kjell.
